The Foxtrot is Fun Again

Foxtrot Zulu

Many of you probably remember Foxtrot Zulu from your URI or Ocean Mist days as a homegrown alternative to bands like OAR and Dispatch. Well, they're still around and still touring, but more importantly, they're still recording new material. Tonight is their fifth CD (four studio albums and a live recording), and their first studio effort since 1999's Frozen in Time. This time they're joined by singer/guitarist Marc Roberge of the aforementioned Maryland jam rockers OAR.

Through the years, Foxtrot Zulu has been a staple of the New England jam band scene. They formed in 1994 as a group of college students just having fun, and managed to parlay that into a long, steady career as a consistently touring live band. Their first album Moe's Diner was released in 1995, and kicked off a wave of touring up and down the east coast. Through the rest of the decade and two more studio albums, they became an established and well-known highlight of the jam band circuit, playing bigger venues and festivals around the country. Now, with the release of Tonight they'll be back on the scene for a handful of shows in Narragansett and Worcester throughout the year. If you're looking to relive your glory days out on the quad, or have your first experience with a southern Rhode Island institution, here's your chance. foxtrotzulu.com
