3 Restaurants We Love This Month

Find out what our reviewers are sampling in October

Posted

If you've been aching to treat yourself to a delicious dinner but are tired of going to the same old spot, why not take a risk and try something new? Take a peek at what our reviewers have to say this month about three Rhode Island eateries: Farmstead's much anticipated replacement in Providence's Wayland Square, an Irish pub with a twist in Warren, and a newly reopened Narragansett institution. We've done the research for you, all you have to do is choose. Feeling hungry yet?

The Salted Slate (Providence)
"When La Laiterie (Farmstead) owners Matt and Kate Jennings closed their popular Wayland Square restaurant and cheese shop last year, one thing was certain: Providence would have high expectations for the space’s next restaurant tenant. In less than two months, a light-handed, practical renovation combined the former cheese shop and restaurant into a larger dining space and The Salted Slate was born." Read the review...

McBlarney's County Tap (Warren)

"McBlarney’s is a great place for groups, and although we left as that night’s band was entering, I’m sure the fun and shenanigans extend well into the evenings. I’ll certainly be back for a Patriots game, and with fall in the air, I may even be in the mood for Shepherd’s Pie." Read the review...

The Coast Guard House (Narragansett)
"The Coast Guard House is back and better than ever. There are some restaurants who can’t rebuild after a disaster (Providence’s La Moia for one), but the Coast Guard House used Superstorm Sandy’s damage as an opportunity to improve. It’s definitely worth a visit to check it out." Read the review...
