Coffee & Comfort Food at DenDen Cafe Asiana

New Asian cuisine on Benefit Street

Posted

The East Side’s newest eatery features Japanese and Korean comfort food in a casual, cafe setting. DenDen Café Asiana – DenDen means “rice field, rice field” in Japanese – has taken over the space next to Geoff’s Superlative Sandwich shop on Benefit Street.

Sip on Illy coffee while feasting on creations like Yaki Udon Bento (stir fried noodles and vegetables on top of homemade bento), Kimchi Pancake (Korean pancake) or their signature dish, Hot Pot Beef Bulgogi (soy-mar- inated Korean thin-sliced beef with sweet potato noodles and vegetables served in a hot pot).

“It is a different concept, but we are very proud when we see our customers return three times in a single day,” explains owner Min Cheung. “Latte and pastries in the morning, Hot Stone Bibimbap for lunch and a decaffein- ated shot of espresso for the evening while surfing the internet in our cozy venue.”
