PVD Putt Putt Brings Mini Golf to Armory Park

Celebrating local artists on the green

Posted

Kara Dziobek was walking around the West Side one evening and had the sudden urge to play mini golf; unfortunately, a course does not exist in Providence. She began to imagine a golf course designed by local artists and designers to involve the creative community, and soon applied for PopUp Providence, a program that funds temporary installations to engage the residential area. After being awarded a grant, the project began.|

PVD Putt Putt is a nine-hole mini golf course, with each hole designed by a local artist(s) or designer. The designs are meant to promote the local artists and highlight the creative
talent within the diverse population of Providence’s West Side. The course adds to the neighborhood activities and serves as a place for “inspiration, exploration and connection.”

The course is free to play, although donations are encouraged. Each week, donations will go towards a different non-profit in the city. PVD Putt Putt is also seeking volunteers to assist in operating the course. Make sure to check it out soon – the temporary installation is only in place until October 31.
