Elmwood Diner Takes Over Historic Space

Check out the new locally-focused menu

Posted

The Elmwood Diner has been known by many names – most recently the Liberty Elm – and has had many different coats of paint over the years, but beneath it all is rail car number 806, built in the 1940s and recognized on the National Register of Historic Spaces. Zoë Neves, Paul Smith and their four children are the latest chapter in the little car’s big history, as they reopened as the Elmwood Diner in April. More than just a cute face, the diner features a more forward-thinking and focused menu that is dominated by local producers like Baffoni’s Poultry Farm, Pat’s Pastured and more. The Elmwood is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7am to 2pm. 777 Elmwood Ave, Providence. 781-0777
