On Saturday, March 30th, the South Kingstown Land Trust (SKLT) will monitor the majority of SKLT properties with the help of volunteers. Attendees will meet at 10:00 am at the SKLT Barn on 17 Matunuck Beach Rd.
SKLT has the annual legal responsibility to visit every property and to observe and make note of current conditions. Staff and volunteers monitor each of the 166 projects and over 2,800 acres of preserved land in South Kingstown. Monitoring Day is a great opportunity to experience the protected properties that are not open to the public, as well as to become more intimate with some of the most popular or lesser-known trails.
Attendees are trained and provided the maps and materials required to perform this critical task. All are asked to wear appropriate clothes and footwear and to bring a camera to document their findings. All volunteers are invited back to the Barn to return their completed folders and share in a lunch provided by the SKLT Board of Trustees. Rain date Sunday, March 31.
To volunteer, RSVP at http://sklt.org/events-calendar/
