Classing Up your iPad

Mountaincow and Providence Picture Frame team up for Tablet Couture

Posted

One of the downsides to the advent of digital photography is that the art of presentation has fallen somewhat to the wayside. Back in the day you’d pick up your prints, select the ones you liked and proudly put them out for the world to see. Now we just dump our life’s milestones into a Facebook album and click “share.”

Working with Providence Picture Frame, Providence-based software developer Mountaincow is trying to merge old practices with our current methods of sharing Kodak moments. Together they have come up with Tablet Couture, a line of high quality, artisanal picture frames made for a variety of tablets, including iPad and Android devices.

“We are all taking and sharing more photos than ever but there are no stylish options to display [them],” says Mountaincow president, Josh Eisen. “We created Tablet Couture so we could slide our iPad tablets into these beautiful museum-quality natural wood frames to display all of our digital photos.”

The days of your iPad marring your parlor’s meticulous decor, propped haphazardly on its magnetic cover/stand combo flap atop your end table and utterly devastating to your feng shui, are over.

Combined with an app that Mountaincow is developing with advanced photo display features, these handcrafted frames will allow for the constant variety with minimal effort that the digital age affords, but from the chic housing of Providence Picture Frame’s handcrafted frames. Anyone interested can get hands on with Tablet Couture frames at Providence Picture Frame Co. & Dryden Gallery on Thursday June 4 at 6pm. 27 Dryden Lane. 421-6196.
