Party at the Beach

Posted

It might be a little early for throwing on your trunks and taking a dip – or not, you do you – but if anything says “beach season has arrived,” it’s the Misquamicut SpringFest. The 8th annual festival runs May 11-13 and brings the usual suspects back for another weekend of food and fun. Expect carnival rides and games, like the Ferris wheel and whack-a-mole, cruise vintage Detroit muscle at the classic car show, and wrangle up some eats at the food truck rodeo. Musical performances from John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, Badfinger, and more will provide a killer soundtrack for the open-air festivities. If that isn’t a sure enough sign that warmer days are here to stay, make sure to head back to the beach later in the week for opening night of the Misquamicut Drive-In (May 18), featuring the greatest summer movie ever: Jaws.
