It’s that time of year: March Madness! When college basketball teams fight each other to the death until only one remains, and the winner collects the prize to become all-powerful and omnipotent. Just kidding, that’s Highlander.
The newest form of March Madness is the one being held by Farm Fresh Rhode Island (FFRI) at the Pawtucket Wintertime Farmers’ Market. They’re holding their first annual series of events each Saturday this month.
The series of events include Chef Scott Melville and Chef Fab from Nosh Tavern hosting a cooking demo on March 7. On March 14, there will be a pie-eating contest by Humble Pie Company and Down City Designs. There will be a Hope & Main and Bucket Brewery Pairing on March 21, and an African Alliance cooking demo on the 28 rounds out the events. Scavenger hunts are being held each Saturday and there will be a chance to win up to $250 in prizes from FFRI vendors. Hope Artiste Village, 1005 Main Street, Pawtucket.
