Conveniently located in the Renaissance Hotel, just steps from the train station and Providence Place Mall, Public Kitchen & Bar evokes the classic Rhode Island ambience of places like the Newport Mansions, the State House and the former Masonic temple in which the hotel is housed. It's intended to be a meeting place for everyone from hipsters to senators.

The food at this American tavern is a mix of New American sensibilities with eclectic international influences. It's a winning blend of the refined and the unpretentious. Choose from soups and salads, pizzas and sandwiches, and plates small and large. Want a taste of classic Americana with a bit of updated flair? Try the Public House Blended Beef Burger served on a house-made english muffin with cognac aioli, cheddar, and hand- cut fries. In the mood for something different? Try the Spring Vegetable Cavatelli with English peas, tarragon, lemon and mascarpone or Tacos! Tacos! Tacos! (We think the name says it all on that one.)

Each dessert is masterfullt created by an in-house pastry chef, from teh Public Candy bar to the Salted Caramel Cheesecakle.

The bar at Public offers a selection of craft beers on draft or in bottles, wines by the glass and house crafted cocktails like the Perfect Pair cocktail made with Absolut pear vodka, Black Fig vidka, ginger/hibiscuc syrup lemon juice, apricot puree and candied hibiscus.

Public is also available for private parties and functions.

Can't-Miss Dish: Bacon N' Kimchi (pictured above) with fried rice, 60-minute egg and hoisin sauce.
