The Rhode Island Chapter American Guild of Organists presents Katelyn Emerson in recital performing works by Vivaldi/Bach, Sweelinck, Howells, Franck, Boëly, Parker & Sowerby on the beautiful and historic 3-manual, 74 rank Austin op.753 (1917), Friday March 22 at 7:30 PM in S. Stephen’s Church, 114 George Street, Providence RI, open to the public and free of charge, (donations accepted). A post-recital reception follows. Ms. Emerson, since taking first prize in the AGO 2016 National Young Artist Competition, has concertized all over the world. The American Organist calls her playing, “tasteful and elegant.” Boston Musical Intelligencer says, “she is indeed a ‘Rising Star’ in the organ world.” The Portland Press says, “Emerson…shows every indication that she will become one of her generation’s most prominent organists.”
