Shaking It for Charity

Have a very burlesque Christmas

Posted

Your mother always told you never to leave the house without clean underwear, right? The beautiful bombshells of Big Bang Burlesque couldn’t agree more. Holiday cocktails will be flowing at the Out of the Toy Box Holiday Extravaganza as Providence’s favorite burlesque queens take it all off to benefit the RI Crisis Assistance Center, an organization that serves survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Big Bang is taking over the PVD Social Club (71 Richmond St.) on the evening of Saturday, December 3 with their gorgeous props and big costumes. The ladies present an evening of toy-themed burlesque and variety performances by hilarious artists, including Serendipity Galore, Bettysioux Tailor and more. It’s serious fun for a serious cause; as Galore explains, “We’re taking our panties off so women in need can put new ones on!”

The fun begins with a cocktail hour, live music and silent auction at 7:30pm. The show starts promptly at 9pm. Tickets cost $10 plus a package of new panties – or bras – for the women served by the Crisis Assistance Center, or $15 with no panties.
