Beer lovers, rejoice – The Malted Barley is the place for you. This stylish pub in downtown Westerly delivers the relaxed atmosphere and wide selection of brews you're looking for – and pairs it all with that ultimate bar food, pretzels.

They've got 35 draft lines, with one each dedicated to hard ciders and root beers on tap. (Yes, they do root beer floats.) The other 35 drafts rotate based on seasons and special limited releases, and there are an additional 30+ beers available in bottles. Beer afficianados will always find something new and interesting to savor. The Malted Barley also offers full wine and cocktail lists to suit any taste.

The perfect pairing for that local beer (like Westerly's own Grey Sail) or micro brew is one of the Malted Barley's 17 varieties of gourmet soft pretzels. You can keep it classic with a regular salted pretzel, get creative with the garlic and parsley variety, or go all out and get a stuffed pretzel with chipotle pepper and smoked Gouda. For bigger appetites, they also serve sandwiches on pretzel bread, like a Grilled Cheese with havarti and cheddar on an asiago and parmesan pretzel bun, or Bratwurst with sauerkraut and spicy mustard. There are even dessert pretzels, like sugar and cinnamon or apple strudel.

The atmosphere at the Malted Barley is always lively and friendly, with outdoor seating in the warmer weather; live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday; reggae night on Tuesdays; a downstairs room with a foosball table; and plenty of sports on TV. It's the place to be for beer enthusiasts, or anyone just looking for a good drink and a bite to eat.

Must-Try Dish: Jalapeño & Cheddar stuffed pretzel, with a side of apricot butter.

Insider Tip: The Malted Barley offers gluten-free options, including pretzels, beers and hard ciders on tap.
