We Call "Do-Over"

Hit the reset button on your winter plans (and the local economy) on April 12

Posted

Let's face it, this past winter was a doozy. It affected us emotionally and physically (shoveling, pushing our cars out of the snow, etc). Plans were ruined due to the reoccurring major snowstorms and local businesses really felt the blow. From Valentine's Day dinner cancellations to people relying on online shopping for the holidays to avoid the mess outside, a lot of business was lost.  The Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau is demanding a do-over. They have  declared April 12 "Do-Over Day," and they want everyone who had ruined plans to simply do them over to help out the local economy. Places such as Providence Performing Arts Center and Wayland Square Merchants Association are taking part with a discounted program. The CVB is also giving a way a complete "Do-Over" prize package, including a $100 gift card to Providence Place, a $50 gift card at Bravo Brasserie, two tickets to the Roger Williams Park Zoo, and $100 in ride credit from Uber. So now the question is, what will you be doing April 12? We have all spent too much time in our homes this past winter so we have no excuse to get out and enjoy this day.
