What Cheer Tavern

Delicious bar bites with outstanding suds to match

Posted

What Cheer Tavern, a landmark on Providence’s bar scene since 2012, has been serving up creative and delicious bar fare ever since its doors opened. Longtime favorites like their Bacon Wings, are still around, and with good reason. The Bacon Chipotle wings are smothered in smoky hot sauce and sprinkled in bacon maintaining that great flavor patrons know and love.

The bar is cozy but the flavors are larger than life, like the Mofo Fries topped with cheddar, sriracha sour, cojita, cilantro, crispy garlic and sambal. Then again sometimes you just want a hot dog. Why not have one that’s kick up, like the Crunk Dog. The all beef dog is piled with pulled pork, coleslaw, killa bee sauce and pickles.

The food menu is certainly awe-inspiring, but What Cheer Tavern is just that – a tavern. As always, the bar features some up and coming Rhode Island crafted beers like Proclamation Tendril on tap along with national crowd pleasers like Maine Beer and Co. What Cheer is a safe haven for foodies and bar hoppers all over Rhode Island with reasonable prices and a phenomenal staff that have you invited to be delighted.

Insider tip: Don’t know your brews? The wait staff are knowledgeable and more than ready to help you pick the best ale, stout or pilsner for your taste buds. They even allow you to sample a beer before committing to a glass, so there’s no guess and check.
