Wingate book club to discuss ‘The Ghost Map’

The book club at Wingate Residences on the East Side will discuss “The Ghost Map: The Story of London's Most Terrifying Epidemic — and How it Changed Science, Cities and the Modern World,” by Steven Johnson on Monday, June 25 at 2 p.m. New York Times notable book and Entertainment Weekly best book of the year, “The Ghost Map” details Victorian London’s 17th century cholera outbreak and examines how the outbreak shaped London’s industrial growth, as well as the rest of the world.

The Wingate book club launched 10 years ago and remains one of the community’s most popular programs. Since its inception, the club has read more than 120 books. The book club typically meets the fourth Monday of each month, excluding holidays, and is free and open to the public. Space is limited. For more information or to RSVP, call 401-275-0682.
