Your Weekend Must-List in RI

Celebrate the season with these can't-miss events

Posted

October 4: Embrace the spookiness of the season during Hauntings of Linden Place Guided Tours. Led through dark rooms by only candlelight, learn about the mansion’s storied past riddled with rumors of ghosts and vampires.

October 5-7: Dust off those boots and saddle up for the weekend. Stepping Stone Ranch honors everything equine during the 13th Annual Cowboy Rendezvous: Camp overnight with your horse and compete with other riders, plus savor a steak dinner at the Barn and Bar.

October 6: Newport's Annual Broadway Street Fair returns for a day filled with live music, tasty local eats, an array of artists & makers, local non-profits, and plenty of family fun activities.

October 6: It’s that time of year again – time for Frerichs Farm’s Annual Pumpkin Weigh-Off. While the famously giant pumpkins are the main attraction, stay for the Big Red Barn Blue Grass Band, farm activities, and food trucks.

October 6: Downtown Bristol will be packed with vendors, artists, crafters, and music for the Bristol State Street Fair and Arts Festival. Support local artisans and enjoy a lively downtown scene during this community event.

October 6-8: Federal Hill pulls out all the stops for its annual Columbus Day Festival. Three entertainment stages will boast live music and performances, plus food, vendors, and a parade through the city’s little Italy.

October 7: Bristol's Third Annual Wood Street Fair returns with a chili cookoff, antique car and motorcycle show, beer and wine garden, and more. Stop by for family friendly fun with a summer cook-out atmosphere in fall.

October 8: Pronk returns to Providence for another daylong celebration of raucous street music and social justice. Watch marching bands from all over the country wind their way through downtown to the hurricane barrier.

October 8: Columbus Day weekend wouldn't be complete without the Westerly-Pawcatuck Columbus Day Parade. Since 1947 this event has celebrated the contributions of Italian-Americans with participants and sponsors marching or riding their way downtown.
