Downcity: An old expression for downtown that’s making a return mostly for business names.
H.P. Lovecraft: Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937), born on the East Side, is considered by many to be the father of supernatural horror fiction.
Lonelyville: A nickname for the Olneyville neighborhood.
PVD: This refers to the RI/Providence codes for both TF Green Airport and the Amtrak station.
Quahog: The name of a large hard clam found in chowder and popular app, the stuffie, which is a quahog steamed open and filled with stuffing, minced clams, and other things.
Tour de Tentacle: A citywide, bike-bound, puzzle-solving adventure-race that pits riders against eldritch forces bent on nothing less than oblivion and family-friendly, inclusive fun.
