It's the first weekend of the last full month of summer, so get ready to make the most of it. Fortunately, there are plenty of options.

All Weekend

Get ready to experience high culture and beautiful music at the Kingston Chamber Music Festival at URI. This two-week festival is celebrating its 25th year and wraps up this weekend.

Enjoy Shakespeare as The Bard himself did: outdoors. The Rhode Island Shakespeare Company presents his classic comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor at Tiverton's Sandywoods Farm on Friday and Saturday.

So, you missed the big Folk Festival last weekend, huh? Not to worry, this weekend you can catch the return of the storied Newport Jazz Festival at beautiful Fort Adams. You'll hear some of the world's best musicians, and help jazz legend Wayne Shorter celebrate his 80th birthday.

Hungry? Then the Charlestown Seafood Festival is just the event to satisfy your appetite. There will be music, kids activities, games and, of course, lots of food.

If you love theater, but have an aversion to commitment, you'll love the single-serve drama of the One Act Play Festival at the Artists's Exchange in Cranston. The two-week festival ends this weekend.

Friday

Adult Swim fans will surely recognize comedian Eric Andre, who brings his unique (and kind of manic) style of humor to the Comedy Connection stage in East Providence.

Remember your Five D's (dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge) as the Ultimate Dodgeball Championship New England Qualifier hurls its way into Sky Zone Providence. At press time there was still no word as to whether it will be broadcast live on "The Ocho."

Saturday

Brown/Trinity Playwrights Rep wraps up its Festival Week with a Festival Marathon, in which you can see all three productions in one day: Melena, The Hunchback of Seville and The Gospel of Loving Kindness. Performances are at Brown University's Leeds Theatre.

If you're feeling tough this weekend, maybe you should test your mettle at the Block Island Triathlon. You can try to conquer this 1/4-mile swim, 12-mile bike ride and 4-mile run – or you can just watch from the sidelines.

On the other hand, if a low-intensity stroll – with snacks – is more your speed, try Savoring Federal Hill: An Insider's Culinary Tour. You'll meet chefs, sample their food and get an inside look at the restaurant business.

Sunday

Mix hogs of both the vehicular and culinary kind at Ed and Kathy Carpenter's second annual Motorcycle Run and Celebration at Whiskey Republic on the Providence waterfront. There will be bikes, BBQ and live music. Proceeds benefit the Children's Shelter of Blackstone Valley.

Celebrate marriage equality becoming the of the land (at least in RI) with the First Annual Gay & Lesbian Wedding Expo at the Providence Marriott Downtown. In addition to the usual vendor displays, there will be music, free samples, giveaways and, of course, lots of love.

Close out the weekend with a little culture as Opera In the Park comes to Hopkins Park in the North End of Providence. Opera Providence will perform L'Elisir D'Amore by Gaetano Donizetti.
