Artisanal soda sounds like a contradiction in terms – but atGreen Line Apothecary in Wakefield, it’s a real thing. The pharmacy, which opened a year ago this month, is also a full-service, 1940s vintage soda fountain: the kind you don’t find anymore, except in old issues of Life magazine. Green Line serves ice cream, shakes, floats and all the usual stuff, as well as made-to-order sodas, lime rickeys and cherry phosphates. The real distinction, though, is that this soda fountain uses all-natural and organic ingredients – so it’s a step back in time, but with a modern sensibility. 203 Main Street, Wakefield. 307-2555
