A Bug’s World Is About to Take Over Roger Williams Park Zoo

This larger-than-life exhibit invites visitors to see nature from a whole new perspective

Posted

What if your backyard suddenly felt enormous and the bugs were no longer something to brush aside? This spring, Roger Williams Park Zoo turns the tiny into the towering with A Bug’s World, an immersive new exhibit that invites guests to experience nature from an insect’s point of view. Opening April 11 and running through August 9, the exhibit reimagines the outdoors on a grand scale where ants appear as large as dogs and butterflies feel larger than life.

Visitors can wander through giant plants, crawl inside honeycombs, and climb across oversized spider webs while navigating a world where the familiar becomes unexpectedly massive. Along the way, guests will come face to face with larger-than-life caterpillars, beetles, and ladybugs, and may even need to steer clear of a hungry Venus flytrap. The exhibit blends playful exploration with hands-on learning, highlighting the essential role insects play in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

Designed to inspire curiosity and environmental awareness, A Bug’s World brings attention to how these small but mighty creatures support the natural world around us. The experience aligns with the Zoo’s ongoing commitment to conservation, offering guests an engaging way to connect with wildlife and understand their impact. A Bug’s World is an add-on experience and requires separate Zoo admission. To learn more, visit RWPZoo.org
