Heather Mara turns blank walls into bold statements, and now Rhode Island gets to feel the full force of her creative spark.
The powerhouse behind Make It P.O.P., the Cranston-based studio known for punchy logos, full rebrands, murals, and original art, just unveiled her latest masterpiece inside CRU PVD on Westminster Street. It’s the third stop in her 2025 mission to paint a mural in every New England state. New Hampshire and Massachusetts are already checked off the list. Now Rhode Island has its moment with a lively, interactive design that practically begs for photos.
“TikTok pointed me straight here,” Mara says. “I asked for Rhode Island leads and hundreds of comments poured in. CRU clicked instantly because the owners value atmosphere, community, and storytelling through design.”
Inside the mural, subtle bayberry leaves and the year 1911 hide among sweeping patterns as quiet nods to the building’s history. “Those details feel like secret love notes,” she says. “The owners know the meaning. Everyone else just feels the depth.”
Over three days, diners watched the wall come alive. Kids gawked as Mara used a Meta headset to project the design in virtual reality. Seniors asked questions. A preteen artist proudly shared her iPad sketches. “Moments like that remind me why I started Make It P.O.P.,” Mara says. “Art should spark the next generation and prove creativity has no age limit.”
The finished mural brings photo-op energy with layers of detail that reveal themselves visit after visit. “I want people to feel a rush of creativity when they walk in,” she says. “That is the Make It P.O.P. promise. Your space leaves a lasting impression.”
Make It P.O.P. works with brands looking to stand out, offering fresh visual identities, dynamic websites, and custom murals that transform ordinary rooms into memorable spaces. Whether Mara is crafting a logo or painting a wall that stops scrollers mid-feed, her work blends bold color with intentional storytelling.
With Rhode Island complete, she heads to Maine next, then Vermont and Connecticut in 2026. For this mom, designer, and muralist, the six-state series proves that bold ideas, chased with intention, can shift everything.
