Celebrate gluten-free living at this inaugural culinary celebration committed to sustainability

Providence is set to roll out the welcome mat for a foodie festival that's sure to be the toast of the town – and it's all gluten-free! On March 23, the WaterFire Arts Center will transform into a haven for the wheat-averse and gluten-intolerant with the launch of Rhode Island's inaugural GFree Fest.

The GFree Fest is a culinary celebration conceived by BJ Mansuetti, who shifted from his beer industry expertise to become an advocate for gluten-free living, alongside his partner Robin Dionne, a veteran in plant-based event organization and founder of RI VegFest.

Following Mansuetti's own celiac disease diagnosis, which led to significant personal and professional adjustments, the duo was inspired to establish a festival dedicated to those avoiding gluten. The festival offers attendees the chance to enjoy a variety of gluten-free food options from both local and national providers, all in one location.

Festival-goers can indulge in a range of gluten-free products, from local spirits by The Industrious Spirit Company to Sprawl Hard Seltzer's bubbly beverages, as well as essential grocery items from May's Gluten Free Market (read more about the shop in our recent coverage) and exotic tastes from international brands like Jovial, Brazi Bites, and Queen Street Bakery. The festival promises a diverse array of flavors to delight every taste preference.

More than just a place to eat, GFree Fest also aims to nourish community and environmental health. Teaming up with Bootstrap Compost, the event is committed to sustainability, focusing on minimizing waste and utilizing compostable products. To learn more and purchase tickets, visit GFreeFest.com.
