Vintage goods
A shop selling vintage goods.
Tucked away in the historic Federal Hill neighborhood on Knight Street, look for the three-story brick building refreshed with bright blue and rainbow accents, just a short walk from Courtland Club.
Located in the heart of the West End, Existential Thread Co. delivers an eccentric mix of vintage clothing, home decor, and accessories. Inside, you’ll find pieces ranging from ironically tacky to supremely unique. True to its motto, “Supplies for coping with the burden of awareness,” the shop pokes fun at life and existence while celebrating the nostalgia, beauty, and mysterious energy drawing us to one-of-a-kind items. Owner Bridget Duggan created the business in October 2021 after being set adrift during the pandemic. What began as a solo passion project has evolved into a thriving, eclectic storefront and what sets the store apart is its vibrant, collaborative spirit, dedicated to connection. “I get to learn something new from everyone who walks through the door,” says Duggan. “I try to hold some space for them by helping them find something that lights them up, or just by connecting with an old-fashioned conversation.”
